Art Basel expanded to Hong Kong in 2013 and for its third year, Mr Brainwash attended the event with his own “Life is Beautiful” solo exhibit.
The artist teamed up with Lan Kwai Fong, one of Hong Kong’s biggest lifestyle company with investments in restaurants, bars and real estate, to host a cocktail party that ended with a live-painting performance.
Mr Brainwash gave fast-food a spotlight for Art Basel: Miami Beach by creating an interactive mural of Burger King’s Whopper and fries on the outside wall of GAB Studio.
There was also a sort of “throne” you can sit on with a crown above your head.
Miami is the birthplace of Burger King, the fast-food joint first opened in 1954, and home of The Original Whopper Burger. Mr Brainwash paid tribute to its origins by creating the interactive mural on Wynwood.
Mr Brainwash also kicked off Art Basel with a night of partying at WALL Lounge with friends Paris Hilton and Rick Ross.
Mr Brainwash took to the streets of Art Basel: Miami Beach and graced the Scope Pavilion with his rendition of newly-elected President Barack Obama, commemorating the historic event as this country seated its first African-American chief of state!
Alongside the image of President Obama in Superman’s suit with the American flag behind him were the words which briefly described the Civil Rights Movement that began in the United States during the 60s: “Rosa Parks sat, so that Martin Luther King could walk. Martin Luther King walked, so that Barack Obama could run. Obama ran, so we could fly.”
