Miami, FL – December 2, 2014 – Burger King Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: BKW) proudly unveiled a new interactive mural in the heart of the Wynwood Art District on Tuesday afternoon to celebrate Art Basel Miami. Miami has been the Home of The Whopper® since the first Burger King® restaurant opened in 1954. As part of the city’s evolution, The Burger King® brand continued to integrate itself into the Miami community with a mural created by the critically acclaimed pop artist, Mr. Brainwash. With Miami’s new era of physical and cultural transformation, Burger King® restaurants want its neighbors and Miami visitors alike to experience the energy of the Wynwood Art District and interact with the mural created by Mr. Brainwash as part of it. “Great to have done this mural for the Burger King® brand, an iconic American brand that is based in Miami,” said Mr. Brainwash. “The mural I created was inspired by Miami’s multi-cultural lifestyle and the colorful juxtaposition of street art. The mural is meant to encourage interaction between people that walk by and the wall.” Miami notables including Real Housewives of Miami Star Adriana de Moura, TV personality Katrina Campins, nightlife guru David Grutman, Del Toro co-founder Matthew Chevallard, and Zak Stern of Zak the Baker were all on hand to join in on the action. Visitors can share their experience on social media with the hashtag #BKBrainwash. The mural will be on display through the month of December at GAB Studios, 225 NW 26 Street, Miami, FL 33127.
